About VJ Academy
VJ Academy is an online school and community for VJs — 100+ step-by-step tutorials covering Resolume, Synesthesia, NestDrop, Notch, and Unreal, a rotating plugin vault included with membership, live events, and daily feedback from a community of 600+ VJs worldwide (verifiable at skool.com/vjacademy).
Why we built it
When we started VJing, there was no real place to learn it — just scattered YouTube tutorials, dead forum threads, and a lot of guessing. So we built the school we wish we'd had: a step-by-step path from your first clip to performing live, with working VJs to answer questions along the way.
Everything we teach comes from real gigs — clubs, festivals, LED walls, projection-mapping installs. If we don't use a technique in our own sets, we don't teach it.
The founders
Rex Roberts
Visual artist, projection-mapping installer, and VJ. Rex has been performing and teaching live visuals for 7+ years, builds custom Resolume plugins for the community, and hosts tutorials on the VJ Academy YouTube channel. Find him at @rexaffects.
Robert Morris
Working VJ and instructor. Rob co-founded VJ Academy and hosts the beginner gear walkthrough — between the two of us, we've spent over 15 years performing and teaching live visuals. Find him at @ikshana.visuals.
